David Albertson
David Albertson
Bio:  David Albertson has four years private teaching experience in guitar and bass.  He is a graduate of a 3 year competitive Teaching Internship with the National Guitar Workshop, where he shadowed top US guitar instructors and taught classes across the nation.  He has participated in clinics taught by highly skilled musicians including Victor Wooten, John Pettrucci, Ron Carter, Paul Gilbert, John Scofield, John 5, Stu Hamm, Michael Angelo Batio, Greg Howe and Robben Ford.  Coached bands for Skips Music Stairway to Stardom Program and earned two awards as Roseville’s Most Talented and a Recognition for excellence in jazz by the International Association for Jazz Education.


In addition to teaching music, David is a Music major at Sacramento State University and a graduate of Sierra College with two AA Degrees.  He is skilled in guitar, bass, violin, cello, piano, harmonica, and other string instruments.  He has performed with CSUS Wind and Concert Ensemble, Marching Band and various jazz combos.


Other accomplishments include 1st place in “Shred Off” Competition at National Guitar Workshop winning a Parker guitar; Scholarships to Berklee College of Music’s Berklee in Lap Program and National Guitar Workshop Summer Program.


He is also a session musician and has been part of musical productions of CSUS Batboy, The Wedding Singer, Chorus Line, Footloose, Hello Dolly, Oliver, to name a few.  He is the lead  guitarist for Monster Cable endorsed rock band PointDexter and performed at venues like  The Boardwalk, Memorial Auditorium, Sleep Train Ampitheatre (Vans Warped Tour), Sacramento Zoo, Reno Jazz Festival, Club Retro and the Underground. 


He enjoys bringing his love of music to others and shares his enthusiasm in helping them reach their potential.
